Experience
With over 32 years
of practice in the state of California,
Mr. Pouliot brings a range of experience
that promotes efficiency and common
sense to the solution of your family
law or divorce problems. In the early part of his
career, Mr. Pouliot was a member of
a five-attorney partnership where he
acquired extensive experience in litigation.
He also participated in the management
aspect of the law firm. Mr. Pouliot also accumulated
a wide range of knowledge and hands-on experience in dealing with military personnel
in the field of Family Law. Thus he is quite familiar with the
special issues involved when one or both parties to a divorce case
are members of the armed services of the United States.
In 1995, wanting a
change of pace from the management responsibilities
of law practice, Mr. Pouliot became
associated with various firms as a family
law/divorce litigator and handled hundreds of
family law cases, including order to
show cause hearings, custody trials,
property division matters and various
support issues that may arise in a divorce case. He has litigated family
law/divorce matters in the courts of San Diego
County, Orange County, Los Angeles County,
Riverside County, and San Bernardino
County.
A major thrust of Mr.
Pouliot's philosophy is that "you
cannot settle a case until you are ready
for trial". To that end, our approach
is to first investigate all the facts
and obtain all the information from
our client. Once this is done, we explore
all possibilities of settlement before
embarking on the oftentimes costly litigation
track. Thus, over his 32 plus years
of practice, Mr. Pouliot has acquired
mediation skills that have helped him
resolve matters that would have otherwise
gone through the litigation route. To
resolve cases with no litigation is
a goal that is analyzed for feasability
from the outset of each case. In such
cases where alternative dispute resolution
is warranted, mediation is oftentimes
the preferred medium because it allows
the parties to arrive at their own resolution
of their family law or divorce matter with the
help of our mediation staff.
In the recent past, Mr.
Pouliot was associated with the Law
Offices of E. Gregory Alford, a Certified
Family Law Specialist who was a prominent
practitioner in San Diego, California.
Upon Mr. Alford closing his office in April 2004, Mr.
Pouliot assumed the responsibilities
for most of Mr. Alford's current cases.
Mr. Pouliot now continues to practice
under his own firm name.

developed an expertise as a litigator
and concentration in the Family Law
field, Mr. Pouliot has acquired a solid

and judges. This benefits his clients
in that he can apply this technological
know-how to enhance the rendering of
his legal services to his clients, oftentimes
at a reduced cost to the clients.

snow skier who has been indulging in
the sport for over 48 years. He is also
